CHICAGO, 13 October 2022 — The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) announced today the publication of a timely compendium of short essays, on a range of communications topics, from a diverse set of contributors around the world.
The book – The IABC Guide for Practical Business Communication: A Global Standard Primer – provides insights into best practices across communication disciplines and competencies. Topics include executive communication, internal communication, strategic public relations and marketing, and highlights competencies such as planning and management, writing and storytelling, and evaluation and analysis. The work also features strategies for applying the six core principles of IABC’s Global Standard of the communication profession.
“The book is intended for both communications professionals and executives who are not communications experts but who want to understand the discipline,” said editor and contributor Tamara L. Gillis, Ed.D., ABC, IABC Fellow, FRSA. “The collection will provide insights for readers at every stage of their career.”
This new addition to the IABC library carries on the legacy of published thought-leadership that began with original collections and continued through two editions of “The IABC Handbook of Organizational Communication”. The authors in this volume were chosen for their expertise, diverse backgrounds and fresh perspectives.
“IABC exists to create connection, advance the profession, and develop communication professionals,” said Danielle Bond, chair of the International Executive Board. “This remarkable new book showcases IABC’s worldwide community and shares the communications skills, strategies and tactics necessary to succeed today.”
