IABC Statement: We stand united against misinformation
 
On behalf of the International Association of Business Communicators and communication professionals around the world, we stand by the many innocent people who are being forced into a violent and dangerous conflict in Ukraine.
 
The IABC and our members stand united against misinformation. We uphold truth and abide by the IABC Code of Ethics for Professional Communicators.
 
From the smallest retail company to the largest government, communication professionals serve as conduits for information, engagement, and social action. At the heart of that responsibility is an ethical commitment to truth. The past century is rife with examples of propaganda and misinformation leading to war and countless loss of life.
 
We encourage all leaders and communication professionals around the world to stamp out disinformation and to refer ONLY to truthful, timely and accurate information from credible sources.
 
To the communication professionals in Ukraine and Russia who champion this code of ethics, you are in our thoughts and we will do all we can to support you.
